Thanks to China’s rapid economic growth, owning a car has become increasingly commonplace for ordinary Chinese citizens. As of August this year, the country’s vehicle stock has surpassed 100 million. At the same time, as consumers’ demands for automotive safety, fuel efficiency, environmental friendliness, comfort, and entertainment continue to rise, sales in China’s automotive electronics market are surging. According to iSuppli’s forecast, China’s automotive electronics revenue will reach US$20.6 billion in 2012, overtaking the United States and claiming the title of the world’s largest automotive electronics market. This trend is especially pronounced in areas such as powertrain control, safety systems, infotainment, and charging/discharging systems, where protective devices and power management components are widely deployed.
The 78th China Electronics Fair in 2011 (November 9–11, Shanghai New International Expo Center; www.iCEF.com.cn/fall), in response to this market demand, has specially brought together leading companies in China’s automotive electronics component sector to showcase their latest products and technologies, making it a veritable “exhibition of cutting-edge achievements” in the field.
Various types of electronic and electromagnetic interference, both inside and outside the vehicle, often place automotive electronic systems in hazardous operating conditions, degrading their performance and potentially causing malfunctions or even damage. In the most extreme cases, this manifests as high‑amplitude forward and reverse overvoltages and transients. Consequently, transient suppression and overvoltage protection devices become especially critical. At this exhibition, Junyao Electronics, Shanghai Shunlei Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., and other companies will showcase their latest, independently developed products.
Capacitors are widely used in automobiles, including in electronic control units (ECUs), various electronic control components, alternators, distributors, flashers, and, in today’s hybrid vehicles, supercapacitors. Companies such as Shenzhen Weidi Industrial Development Co., Ltd., Heketai Electronics Co., Ltd., Songtian Technology Development Co., Ltd., Hede Man Industrial Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yidian Dianzi Technology Co., Ltd., Zhongdian Equipment Co., Ltd., Qingdao Sanying Electronics Co., Ltd., and Changzhou Huawei Electronics Co., Ltd. will represent the highest standards of domestically produced capacitors at this exhibition.
In automotive electronic systems, control of electrical devices is primarily implemented using bipolar and field-effect transistors. These components are employed in circuit‑control systems that energize electromagnetic coils, such as those for the generator rotor winding, engine fuel injectors, idle speed control valves, exhaust gas recirculation valves, relays, automatic transmission solenoid valves, and ABS system valves. Companies including Shenzhen Longjing Microelectronics Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Tianwang Technology Development Co., Ltd., Changzhou Yinhe Electrical Appliance Co., Ltd., and Yangzhou Zhongxin Jinglai Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will all be exhibiting at the event.
In addition, Yuzhong Enterprise Co., Ltd.’s automotive frequency‑control components and GPS modules, along with active antennas; Bengbu Shuanghuan Electronics Group Co., Ltd.’s diverse range of automotive metal‑oxide film products; Milsheng’s new‑generation fuel‑tank level sensors; Zhejiang Lingchen Technology Co., Ltd.’s full lineup of discharge tubes; innovative magneto‑inductive ICs; and Guangzhou Dingsource Power Technology Co., Ltd.’s automotive DC‑DC and AC‑DC power modules—all stand out as key highlights of automotive electronics at this year’s exhibition.
The 78th China Electronics Fair (CEF) features nearly 2,000 exhibitors across four exhibition halls and 18 specialized zones. In addition to traditional sections such as general electronic components, electronic equipment, instruments and tools, specialty components, semiconductors, power supplies and batteries, and connectors/relays/switches, CEF also serves as an industry bellwether by highlighting current hot topics, with dedicated pavilions for health‑related IoT, RFID/sensors, 3D stereoscopic imaging, LED lighting, and more. CEF has partnered with five leading Asian electronics trade show organizers—Japan’s JESA, South Korea’s KEA, Taiwan’s TEEMA, and Hong Kong’s HKTDC—to co‑host the 2011 Asia Electronics Show, offering a comprehensive showcase of the latest digital technology R&D and manufacturing trends in the region. Concurrent events include the 3D Digital Consumer Electronics Show, the 2011 China LED Expo Shanghai, and the 2011 (Shanghai) Automotive Electronics and New Energy Vehicles Exhibition, allowing visitors to explore multiple exhibitions under one roof.
